EcomHub Review

David Tesla

David Zaleski is the guy behind EcomHub. They sell a course called FBA Academy, a done-for-you partner program called Seller Startup Studio, and à la carte services ranging from product photography to video ads, bookkeeping to copywriting, and more.

David looks like he grew up in a two-parent household with a steep HOA fee, but I won’t hold it against him.

What I will do, though, is interrogate people who’ve bought from him and see what they have to say.

Ecom Hub has an NR rating with the Better Business Bureau. At the time of writing this, I see 239 customer reviews for an average of 4.94 out of 5 stars.

Alex K writes, “I am very excited to be working with EcomHub and their done-for-you program. This is my first time selling on Amazon and I have been impressed with the program.”

“They are helping me launch my first product and been very patient with me during the process,” Alex adds. “Support has been great and my coach has been great to work with. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in ecommerce.”

The other positive BBB reviews are equally generic. No mention of ROI. Feels like they were almost asked to leave ’em.

But I get it. Today, if you sell a course or coaching program and you’re not proactive about reputation management, one troll can flame you, tank your overall rating, and make it tough to get sales going forward.

On the flip side, it’s crazy that you can have 20 legitimate complaints (as EcomHub does) and get a shoulder shrug emoji for a score.

Speaking of, this one surprised me the most: “I am writing this brief letter to bring to your attention that I am not satisfied and highly disappointed with the services provided after I purchased your ecommerce done-for-you course,” writes this other person.

“First of all, I was told it would take three months, which I found to be false,” they continued.

“And secondly, I was charged five times more than they charged other clients for the same service ($20,000!). I am demanding an explanation on the issue. I will go as far as I have to to obtain justice,” they warned.

Pretty crazy.

Someone from EcomHub replied, basically saying that they take these complaints seriously, they’ve contacted the individual, addressed their concerns, and yeah, they’re handling it.

Which kinda shows you the game, doesn’t it? Seems like all ya gotta do is pay the BBB (aka get accredited), respond to anyone who wasn’t happy with your service, and they’ll make sure you come off as a great company.

And then you got bloggers like us who’re all biased because we’re all trying to sell you something different, right?

Online reviews, particularly in the e-learning space, are laughable.

Check out this one from Trustpilot.

Rusul Mahdi, from California, left ’em a perfect 5 stars and wrote, “I really liked the EcomHub done-for-you program. I found it very helpful and the best way to start off your Amazon business. The support team and my coach were all very helpful. I would recommend this program to everyone.”

I mean, that was about as useful as a glass hammer. What am I supposed to do with that? Drop $20 Gs on Seller Startup Studio? I think not.

But you know what I do value? Case studies. That’s the only thing that can’t be faked or incentivized or driven by an ulterior motive. Right?

Like if an active student gets on camera and tells their story and actually shows their store, their stats, how much they’ve invested versus profited – that’s truly helpful.

And depending on the quantity and quality of these case studies, plus what your gut tells you, you should be able to make an informed buying decision.

And I will say, David’s got some solid case studies, so I’ll give him that.
