Nicki Krawczyk has been a copywriter for nearly 20 years. She’s written for big, multi-million dollar clients. Adidas, Reebok, AT&T, Hasbro, Keurig, Marshalls, Tripadvisor, and more. Plus solopreneurs, influencers, and everyone in between.
After building her own six figure copywriting career, Nicki launched Filthy Rich Writer to help others do the same.
Her flagship course is called Comprehensive Copywriting Academy.
Cost is $697. Worth buying?
Read on for my review.
Nicki says don’t even bother with job bidding sites like Fiverr and Upwork. Unless you wanna spend all your time creating proposals for free, while at the same time competing with a sea of other copywriters.
That’s a race to the bottom.
Instead, identify companies you wanna work with and reach out to them.
Sounds scary, doesn’t it? But it’s actually very simple, very systematic, and you never even have to talk to someone on the phone until they’re at least somewhat interested in hiring you.
It’s worth noting: most high-paying projects don’t even make it to LinkedIn or Monster or Indeed. Someone who’s qualified and a bit more proactive pitches ’em, and that’s who they go with. Saves them the time and energy and hassle of scouring the internet and going back and forth with basic b*tches on Upwork all day. (My words, not Nicki’s.)
But this way, you’re not competing with 35 other copywriters, to see who’ll do the most work for the least amount of money. It’s just you versus you, really.
And there’s virtually unlimited businesses you can prospect, with hundreds of thousands of new ones started every single month.
Pitch emails must be warm, personal to the company, and demonstrate your expertise. Give them ideas and always end by asking for a call to discuss further.
When you’re doing these things, you’ll get work.
Dry spells simply mean you’ve been slippin’ on your pimpin’.
Now. Should you pick a niche right away? No. Keep your options open. Date a little before you get married.
This doesn’t have to take up all of your free time, either.
“You can absolutely learn copywriting, build your portfolio, build your experience, and find clients in as little as 15 minutes of focused time per day,” Nicki says.
“The key, the real secret, is consistency. Can you find 15 minutes a day? Of course you can. And hey, if you’ve got 30 minutes, even better.”
“But the main thing is that you stick with it every day. If you do this, there’s no reason you can’t be making money as a copywriter within the first month or two.”
What if you don’t live in a big city? Does it matter? Not at all. While you can certainly serve clients in your own back yard, you don’t have to. Especially after the pandemic, companies are used to getting work done remotely.
Do you need a background in copywriting, or at least marketing? Nope. As long as you’re coachable, Nicki will teach you how to write great copy and turn that skill into a side hustle or dream job or booming business, depending on your goals. Fundamentals, advanced tactics, creating a portfolio website, it’s all covered.
What are people who’ve already purchased Comprehensive Copywriting Academy (CCA) saying about it? In short, really good things.
For example, here’s what Karen wrote in the private Facebook Group:
“I’ve been a member here for a long time. Two years, I think. In that time, I’ve really grown in business and services. I’ve also taken multiple courses. Guys, Nicki Krawczyk has a really really great program here. I’m going back through the modules and her teaching is top notch. You made a smart decision in buying in.”
