Arek and Brian Zabierek are the twin brothers behind the The FBA Start-Up course, which teaches you how to make money with Amazon private label.
Here’s an overview of their curriculum.
Step 1 is to build a solid foundation.
So going and getting an LLC or a corporation. Why’s that important? Because you wanna separate yourself from any risk associated with your business.
That, and there’s tax benefits, right?
Then you have to have the right mindset, the right expectations going into it.
You need to know Amazon FBA is not gonna make you rich overnight. It’s gonna take hard work and patience.
Your first product might not pop off; that’s okay, stick with it, launch another product, and another. Whatever it takes.
So that’s foundation.
Step 2 is product research.
It’s intimidating. You’ve probably never done it before. There’s a learning curve.
And your product is what makes or breaks your business, right? So take your time, look at the data, remove all emotion; be a product-picking sniper.
According to Brian, here’s their dream product:
- Something with high demand, both from a search and revenue standpoint.
- Something that has great opportunity to differentiate.
- It’s already selling well but also trending over time, meaning it’s in a growth state.
- And it’s gotta be profitable, with at least 40% margins.
Step 3 is sourcing your product.
How do you buy it, in bulk, at the lowest price and highest quality?
Stick with Alibaba, Arek recommends. It’s your fastest and easiest option.
Head over to Alibaba.com, do a search for the product you wanna sell, start messaging the different suppliers, and negotiate your face off.
Narrow it down to a handful of suppliers and order samples from each of them.
Then order your competitors’ products and compare.
Choose your winning supplier but don’t make a big purchase just yet.
You need to do what’s called a third party inspection.
Get some feet on the ground over there in China, to assess the overall quality of the products they’re producing for ya, before sending them full payment.
If you get lazy and skip this, you could be out a lot of money.
Once everything’s good to go, you’ll work with a freight forwarder to get the inventory from the factory it’s at in China over to one of Amazon’s warehouses in the U.S.
That’ll take a while, obviously. So whaddya do in the meantime?
Step 4 is to get the ball rolling with SEO, or search engine optimization.
Optimizing your listing to perform well in Amazon’s search results, basically.
- So this is your keyword research.
- Coming up with a good title.
- Taking professional photos of the product.
- Writing a description and bullet points that actually makes people wanna buy it on the spot.
- Pricing it properly.
- And so on and so forth.
All that could take months and thousands of dollars.
How to make sure it pays off? Glad you asked.
Step 5 is launch strategy.
Jump to the first page of Amazon’s search results as quickly as possible. That’s the goal.
So you’ll wanna build sales velocity by ranking for relevant, low-volume keywords right outta the gate.
Supplement that with Amazon pay per click ads.
Once Amazon sees that your product is selling and customers are happy with it, they’ll reward you with higher rankings, right?
This’ll allow you to pull back on advertising and pocket more per sale.
But yeah, that’s basically what the Zab twins teach.
They’re definitely legit but Amazon FBA sounds like a triathlon versus the walk in the park I’m doing. Tap below.
